Drug Addiction

Helping Individuals Struggling with Drug Addiction

Drug abuse and addiction is a growing epidemic in our society that has serious and lasting effects. For many, casual or social use of illicit drugs can lead to a dangerous addiction. At Pavillon, individualized treatment programs are designed to help patients identify and address the underlying causes of addiction so they can establish and maintain recovery. We recognize that addiction can impact people from all walks of life, and our treatments are developed to meet the unique and often complex needs of each patient.

Commonly Abused Drugs

Despite the ever-increasing availability and variety of illicit drugs, specific types of substances continue to be more commonly associated with abuse and addiction, including cocaine, heroin, prescription pain medication, and marijuana. The substance abuse treatment programs at Honest Desire are developed for patients suffering from addiction to these and other drugs.

Symptoms of Drug Addiction

People who become addicted to a drug are dependent on the regular use of the substance to satisfy physical, emotional, or psychological needs. Often, individuals who are struggling with drug addiction will engage in compulsive drug seeking behaviors at the expense of other aspects of their life, including personal relationships, professional commitments, and financial obligations. Withdrawal symptoms, which are often severe, can occur if the person stops taking the drug, making it even more difficult to break the cycle of addiction. Without professional treatment, many individuals are unable to reclaim their lives from the grasp of drug addiction.

Treatment for Drug Addiction

As an initial treatment for drug addiction, most patients will require medically supervised detoxification. This process safely removes the drugs from the individual's system. The patient will also undergo a comprehensive assessment to develop an appropriate treatment plan. At Honest Desire, our programs are designed to provide integrated treatment for co-occurring disorders to meet the unique physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of the individual. Our private residential centers provide a safe, focused, and therapeutic environment for finding the path to recovery.
